Material and consumable selection
We select the consumable to suit the parent material, the service conditions and the acceptance criteria, with the metallurgical reasoning behind it: composition, dilution, phases and expected behaviour in service.
Preheat and interpass temperature
We calculate and justify preheat and the interpass temperature range based on carbon equivalent, combined thickness, heat input and diffusible hydrogen.
Distortion and residual stress
We define welding sequence, assembly order and pre-setting to reduce distortion and stress. Correcting afterwards always costs more than planning for it beforehand.
Post-weld heat treatment
We specify PWHT where required: temperature, heating and cooling rates, soak time and chart recording, with the normative basis that supports it.
Demanding materials
We work with carbon and low-alloy steels, austenitic stainless steels, duplex and super duplex grades and special alloys, including ferrite control and intermetallic phase control.
