What taking on coordination means
EN ISO 14731 does not describe a job title, it describes a set of tasks and a responsibility. We define by contract which of them we take on — requirements review, procedure selection, personnel qualification, production control, treatment of non-conformities — and which stay with your organisation, so that no grey areas remain.
Requirements review before starting
We read the specification, the technical documents and the product standard, and check that what has been contracted is actually buildable: materials, thicknesses, positions, acceptance criteria and required testing. This is the point at which most cost overruns are avoided.
Control during fabrication
We verify that welding is carried out to the qualified procedure: parameters, preheat and interpass temperature, consumables and their storage, ambient conditions and the current qualification of the welder actually at the station.
Closing the documentation
At the end of the work we hand over the complete file, ordered and traceable between drawing, joint, procedure, welder and test. It is what gets examined in an audit, and it is what is almost never ready.
